Privacy Statement

Consistent with Victorian Government legislation, the Yarra-Melbourne Regional Library Corporation (YMRLC) endorses fair information handling practices. Any information provided, including identification of individuals, will be used only for the purpose intended and where the intention includes confidentiality, information will be retained as such unless otherwise required by law.

Visitor logs are used on this site for statistical purposes only. No attempt will be made to identify users or browsing activity.

Email addresses will only be used to respond to specific user queries and will not be kept or used for any purpose other than stated. Email addresses will not be added to a mailing list unless consent is given, nor disclosed to any other party without the member's knowledge or consent.

Our online surveys sometimes ask participants for contact information (such as an e-mail address) and demographic information (such as postcode, age, or employment, etc.). This information is used to help the library service improve its services to patrons.

On occasions we run competitions on our site for which we ask participants for contact information (such as an e-mail address or telephone number). The visitor's details are used to contact the participant was necessary about the contest.

The use of membership numbers to access online databases via the Library's website is used for authorisation purposes only.

This site does not make use of web-browser cookies, referral data, nor does it collect user profiles other than as outlined above.
